Busy bees

Whilst I glaze in the kitchen, B looms in the living room.
J spent time at a friends whilst B and I worked.

Then we went into town to watch a Viking skirmish.

J couldn’t wait to get a hold off a sword
We went to granny’s for a quick visit that turned into a couple of hours, in time to take B to her friend Ph’s birthday party.
Look at the beautiful new puppy that my friend L has!!

J and I took ourselves home again and enjoyed a film together, Mr Poppers Penguins. J was in absolute stitches with the capers of the Penguins 😀 It was brilliant to enjoy it with him!

I worked for hours to finish off my glazing. I’m hoping to get my kiln on the go tomorrow.

B came home around half 10. The party was a sleep over but we decided that, as she was the only girl invited, she wouldn’t stay over. We knew it was going to be a late night.
She had a Great time. Well, she says she spent a lot of time with L and Ph’s granny, but that she joined in the games. L told me that she play fought, and won, with one of the boys ☺ lol

I am so sleepy now, but happy

Another busy day

We nearly didn’t go anywhere today, we all felt a little like staying home, especially as they received their packages today!

Captain America Lego for J, Loom Bands for B.
They were both so happily engrossed, making and sorting.
At the very last moment we realised the time and thought what they hey, we dashed ourselves out the door and made it in time for the last drama session.
The children had a great time!
A wee stop off up at Aunty Ns, then home for us.
A lovely relaxed afternoon and a lovely Skype session with Daddy completed our day.

Let’s make a dragonfly!

So we did, we went along to make a large scale Dragonfly.
And we were the only ones who did!
It was great fun but there was no way to finish it in one day, which is great because now we get to back to finish it next week 😀

We also got to make little ones. Yay

Then we took ourselves to catch the end of the drama and dance class for today because later today they will be doing this dance as a display at the commonwealth baton thing (yeah, thing, I don’t really know what it’s all about! Is it like the Olympic baton thing, they are running it from one end of the uk to the next?)
Anyway, it’s all going on down by the pool.

So first the class, and it’s time to get dressed up

I parked up down in town, so that we could just walk on down from the high school ( where the class is) to the park by the pool. We decided that it would be more funt o go down what I have always referred to as ‘the rabbit slide’, I no longer know why it’s called that, but that’s what I always called it when I was 10ish, lol

We got to the park in time to take part in a Flash Dance to commemorate the Commonwealth Baton coming through our town.

The we joined the crowds to see the baton passing through.
Aunty N was desperate that B get to hold it. Her perseverance paid off.

The children then dashed back down the hill to rejoin the queue to get their turn on the climbing wall.
It took a bit of time, but they got their turn!

B was off like a shot!

J needed a bit more encouragement but he did great too

As we were wandering around the park, the guys at the local funfair were handing out flyers for tonight’s £1 a ride night.
When. I got us all home, I felt too exhausted, but after some dinner, I figured what they hey!
So we took ourselves back into town and had a great time going on all the rides, some were pretty scary for little children but both were delighted and had an absolute blast!
What a shame I forgot my camera! 😦

Pretty hectic day, all in, but a good one 🙂

Daddy is home in just over 3 weeks!
We didn’t expect him for another 5 so yahoo!!
We love you daddy!!

Gala races

One of the evening activities for the village gala is the pet show followed by children’s races.
I think it normally takes place during the day but this year the gala is struggling for folk to help out.
So, the races didn’t start until nearly 7 o’clock.
But before hand there was always the bouncy slide!

Time to race!

So glad we hung around, the children enjoyed every minute!

Painting days

Today was a day for Drama and Dance, but first we visited Granny and Grandad to help with some fence painting.
But before we could do that, B came dashing to tell us that the tide was out!
And that meant that we could go to the cave and then go up the steps in the cliff side!!
She was super excited so Grandad decided to join us for the adventure.
Happy faces as we began our walk.

Time to begin the ascent

Nearly there!

They loved it!
J was a bit scared by the lack of protection between him and the edge of the cliff but he made it 🙂

We did a little painting before heading off for the Drama and Dance class.

I popped back to do some more painting whilst B and J were at their class and we were so nearly finished that I just had to come back afterwards so We could all complete the job.

Then the beach called to me!

Poor J, this was the moment he fell, caught on camera.
I don’t think he was bothered in the slightest!

My beautiful B was brave enough to shed her leggings and just enjoy the water.

I wish I could have been so brave.
But I enjoyed watching my little darlings enjoy the water and the weather!

Wee tuf mudders

The local community fundraisers organised a great event for today.
Tuf Mudders for little ones.
There has been a lot of talk throughout the community with everyone I met saying that they were really looking forward to it.

The day has arrived!
We parked up in the farther away car park and followed the signs up the long driveway.

We got to the hut and the place was MOBBED, oh my goodness so many people! And what a heat!!
We joined the queue to sign up for our turn to do the race/obstacle course.
And grabbed the crayons for some war paint!

J and B took themselves to the starting line. I hadn’t thought to do the course with J because my ankle was really sore but once the starter was blown and I saw B shoot off into the distance, with J trailing behind, I just couldn’t sit about. So I dashed to catch up.

I couldn’t get enough pictures!
It was so much fun!

J was delighted with himself when he made it over the finish line !
We found B in the crowds. A little mucky but still delighted with herself 😀

It was so busy we didn’t hang around for too long.
B got changed, we had a snack and then went to head back to the car via the wooden xylaphone.
On the way home we went past the village harbour. I decided that. I wanted a little more peace before we went back to the house.
As we had wandered through the wood, we had been accompanied by my friend and Js friend.
I needed to just have a moment with my children in a peaceful environment, just us.
This was perfect.

We threw stones into the water, I even managed to skim some!

Then we headed home for a nice peaceful afternoon.
The children were supposed to have baths, but j had been begging me to watch his Lego Batman, that he had borrowed from his friend. After 3 days I relented.
They agreed that they would watch it whilst I bathed, then they would have their baths.

Then grandad arrived!?
B came up to me, in the bath, to tell me she had overheard her grandad telling her granny, on the phone, that his name had been taken by the police.
She was really quite worried that he was in trouble.

I went down to find out if all was well.
It turned out that he had been witness to an awful crash with a motorcyclist and his passenger, and another car.
Poor grandad then spent the next hour giving his statement.

The children finished their film, had their baths and went to bed tired monkeys, looking forward to a busy day the next day.
Two activities booked, one for the morning anyone for the afternoon.
